Stegosaurus means “roof lizard’. Stegosaurus have been found in North America and Europe. Stegosaurus lived in the Late Jurassic period. They were 10m long and weighed 5 tones. Despite its size, the Stegosaurus’ brain was only the size of a dog’s. There is a debate as to whether Stegosaurus could rear up on it’s hind legs, whether the plates were for defence or temperature control, and whether the tail spikes were for display or fighting.
