Parasaurolophus means ‘near crested’ lizard. They lived in the Cretaceous period in what is now North America (similar dinosaurs were also found in China). They grew up to 9.5 meters with a skull length of 1.6 meters and weighed 2.7 tons. Parasaurolophus is one of the rarer duckbilled dinosaurs. The bill had hundreds of teeth that allowed for grinding of tough plants. Parasaurolophus foraged for food on four legs but in defence would run on two.
